In August 2011, the Society lost two of its most valued and respected members:

Edd Rainsbury, husband of our Secretary, and one of our “backroom boys”, lost his brief but heroic battle with lung cancer, early on the morning of 5^th August

Jean Gower, President of the Society, died suddenly and unexpectedly on 18^th August. Jean had not been in the best of health for some time,

but her passing was a shock to us all

Both these much-loved and cherished people will be a great loss to all of us, and our thoughts and sympathies go to their families and friends
